The acrylic paintings shown on this website are a combination of landscapes and calligraphy. Zondervan's style, his handwriting, has similarities with waves and clouds. It associates with water, land and the sky. His regular use of phtalo-blue reminds us of the sea. These works are obviously inspired by the surroundings Zondervan lives in. The north-west part of Friesland, upnorth in the Netherlands, is a very flat landscape, with a wide horizon, a big sky, and behind the dikes always the restless sea.
